Three days of workshops for young people aged 8-12 - join us for a journey through Ancient Greek tales, Norse myths and legends from the UK. Activities include illustration, drama, storytelling and much more.
Our Story Explorer courses offer young people the opportunity to explore their creativity, with guest appearances from professional story-makers including authors, artists, musicians and drama practitioners. Sessions are led by our expert Story Leaders and involve plenty of games and fun along the way. It's a great way to make new friends, try new activities and immerse yourself in the world of stories. Tues 18 Feb: Ancient Greece
From Atlantis to Mount Olympus, we’re going to explore all things Greek. We will jump into the depths of Atlantis and create our own worlds in den building, retell some of the best Greek myths. In a fun draw along with artist Thiago de Moraes you will journey throught the wold of myth and create awesome monsters.
Wed 19 Feb: Norse Mythology
Discover Norse myths and learning stories such as how brothers Thor and Loki got along in Asgard and what Treasures for the Gods were created. Survive Ragnarök and take part in a fun Trickster drama workshop.
Thu 20 Feb: British Legends
Explore tales that have come from a land not so far away – recreating the tale of how Arthur pulled the Sword from the Stone, discovering a dragon’s lair, and inventing your own myths and legends which could spread across the land! Then learn what it takes to be a great Knight in King Arthur's Knight School with Historical Lives.
These are unaccompanied workshops for ages 8-12.

Under the expert guidance of Sir John De Vere the seventh Earl of Oxford, this fun interactive session will guide you through everything you need to know to become an amazing Knight!
Calling all young engineers, architects and inventors! Build a story with LEGO! All you need to bring is your imagination and a desire to have fun. Master Builders Club will be providing 1000s of LEGO bricks that will transform the museum space into a LEGO fan's paradise. Sessions are designed as a creative adventure that incorporates a playful learning experience whilst nurturing young minds.
The theme for this session will be Legend of the Polynesca Kingdom:
Master Builder is on a journey to Polynesca, the home of Water Dragons, Fairies, Elves and Wizards. The light of Pandora has been stolen by Azari the Firedancer and without the magic key Polynesca will be doomed. Will Master Builder get to the treetop hideaway before Polynesca is plunged into darkness forever?
