Travel through time with 3 days of our popular holiday skills-building workshops for ages 8-12.
This week we will explore how we could travel to the past, the future, or even different worlds in the future through stories! Make new friends whilst honing your story skills with our inspiring Story Leaders. With plenty of dressing up, games, role play and craft along the way!
Days run from 10:00-16:00.
Tuesday 8 April: Time Machine
Visit stories from the past and interfere with history – will six wives get their revenge on Henry VIII? Discover the classic story of HG Wells’ The Time Machine and retell it using dressing-up, props and costume before making a mini time machine with artist Kathryn Croxson.
Wednesday 9 April: Back to the Future
What will the earth look like the future? What powers and creatures will control it and how will we live? Enjoy a morning workshop with Atomic Science and discover how time travel might be possible by learning about the stars with some fun science activities. Then travel to the future and create sci-fi stories with lots of games, role play and craft along the way.
Thursday 10 April: Alternative Realities
Travel through portals to alternative realities such as the snowy landscape of Narnia, or the topsy-turvey world or Wonderland. Take inspiration from the different fantasy lands in the Enchanted Library to create new stories through dress up, games, craft and a drama workshop with Diana Christie.
At The Story Museum we believe that finances should not impact a young person’s ability to access the arts. Therefore, we offer bursaries for the course price and related travel expenses for low-income families. To apply for a bursary place, please email us.
